We operate the shelter on a modest budget with a small staff of dedicated individuals. Over half of our revenue comes from donations from our members who care about animals in the community and want to see them treated well. We get no funding from the state or county. We get no regular funding from state or national animal welfare organizations. We get no funding from the United Way. Needless to say, we need and appreciate your donations!

Donate Time and Talent
We are very fortunate to have many volunteers who come to the shelter to help clean cages, walk dogs, as well as pet, groom, train, and play with animals. Many previously unsocialized dogs and cats have found homes because of the time that volunteers spent with them.
We also rely on volunteers to help us photograph animals and post their pictures and profiles to Petfinder.com.
Volunteers (who are careful drivers) transport our precious cargo (usually dogs and puppies) to rescue groups in other parts of the state.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call us at 660 665 8038 to ask about orientation and available times. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
